Naveen was a senior Research Fellow in a DBT funded project and was closely involved in species recovery of some of the critically endangered species of the Western Ghats.
Seethapathy
Junior Research Fellow
Seethapathy worked as a researcher in a project funded by Department of Biotechnology and was involved in the development of DNA barcodes for important medicinal plants. He was also involved in analyzing the extent of adulteration and substitution in herbal raw drugs trade using DNA barcodes. He is currently doing his Post Doc at Morgan State University, USA

Ashwini was a Junior Research Fellow in a DBT funded project and was closely involved in understanding the genetic structure of critically endangered species of the Western Ghats.
Avik Ray
DST- Young Scientist
Avik Ray was a SERB- DST young scientist, who was worked on the evolution of Rhododendron across Himalaya and Western Ghats. Specifically, employing widespread species Rhododendron arboreum, he has tested the central Indian disjunction hypothesis with molecular markers and ecological niche model. He is currently an Associate Scientist at Center for Interdisciplinary Studies at Kolkata.
Sumangala
Senior Research Fellow
Sumangala was a Senior Research Fellow in a DBT funded project on "Species recovery of endangered species in Western Ghats". She has also worked on the population genetic structure of Saraca asoka. She completed her Ph.D from Madurai Kamaraj University.
Priti Hebbar
Ph D Scholar
Priti is an amphibian enthusiast and for her doctoral studies worked on the ecology and conservation genetics of Nyctibatrachus spp. in the Central Western Ghats. She has also been a part of the team that has discovered a number of new amphibians in the Western Ghats. She is currently DST-Inspire faculty at Indian Institute of Science.
Rani
Research Assistant
Rani was a Research Assistant who worked on various projects. She was involved in studying the genetic structure of Rhododendron arboreum, Gymnocranthera canarica and Piper nigrum. She is currently doing her PhD at University of Brunswick, Canada.
Srirama
Post Doctoral Fellow
Rama was a recipient of the Young Scientist fellowship (Post Doc) by the Science and Engineering Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology, Govt of India for studying the diversity of Wild Populations of Piper nigrum (Black pepper) in Western Ghats, India. She was involved in developing species-specific microsatellite markers for Piper. She is currently working in National Biodiversity Authority (NBA), Chennai.

Senior Research Fellow
Senthilkumar was a Taxonomist and worked on several projects. He contributed immensely in DNA barcoding and Phylogenetics of Phyllanthus and Rattans. He is currently an Assistant Professor at SRM University
Priti Vaidyanathan
Research Associate
Priti was a Research Associate who worked on multiple projects related to bioprospecting of medicinal plants. She is currently Asst General Manager at Eurofins Advinus.
Barkha
PhD scholar
Barkha Subba was a PhD scholar. Her research work focused on the distribution mapping and community assemblage of the Himalayan amphibians. Following her keen interest in the Himalayan biodiversity, history, culture and society and a love for travelling and photography she has co- authored a coffee table book “Framed Himalaya – Lachen Valley”. She is currently working as a Research Associate
Jagadish
DST Young Scientist
Jagadish was a SERB –DST young scientist. He has worked on conservation and restoration of the Myristica Swamps in the Central Western Ghats. Jagadish has worked on the species recovery of Gymnocranthera canarica, one of the endemic and endangered species of the Myristica swamps. He is currently an Assistant Professor at College of Forestry, Sirsi.
Sandeep Sen
Ph D Student
Sandeep completed his PhD in 2019. His PhD work was in assessing the role of biogeography, ecology, and climate in driving speciation patterns. His doctoral research was primarily focused on developing a dated phylogenetic hypothesis for the tropical plant Piper in Peninsular India and to test the role of several historical processes shaping its current distribution patterns. He used comparative phylogeographic approaches to gain insights into the evolutionary trajectories of Black Pepper (Piper nigrum) within the Western Ghats. He is currently a Research Associate at ATREE
Shruthi Hegde
Post Doctoral Fellow
Dr. Shruti was a SERB-National Postdoctoral Fellow and worked on the population status, genetic diversity, propagation and rehabilitation methods of two narrowly endemic plants Curcuma bhatii and Impatiens raziana of the Western Ghats, India.
Manokar Jaganathan
Senior Research Fellow
Manokar was a biochemist interested in Conservation Science. As an SRF in a DBT funded project, he worked on Parkia, an important NTFP species in the northeast, India.

Dr. Thriveni was a DBT Postdoctoral Fellow working on the impacts of harvesting on population status and genetic diversity of Phyllanthus indofischeri of the Western Ghats, India.
Yangchen Bhutia

Yangchen was a Ph.D student and worked on understanding plant community composition in Sikkim Himalayas. She particularly explored the influence of environmental and spatial structure in shaping the plant c.ommunities. She now works in the State Forest Department, Sikkim.

Kiran was a project fellow in a DBT funded project. He worked on the impacts of anthropogenic disturbance on the population structure of Rhododendron arboreum in the Western Ghats and Northeast Himalayas
Abhisikta Roy
Abhisikta was a Masters in Ecology and Environment from Pondicherry University. Her interests were in the fields of evolution, ecology, behavior and bio-geographic distribution of birds and
mammals. She is currently at ATREE and plans to register for her Ph.D
Biswa
Biswa, a Masters in Life Science from the National Institute of Technology Rourkela. He worked in the DST-SERB project on invasive species. He is now registered at MAHE and his doctoral research, he is working on modelling the spread of aquatic invasive species.
Arunima Sikder
Arunima is a post-graduate in Botany. As a Junior Research Fellow, she worked in the DBT NE Bioresources project. She assessed the distribution of trees across an altitudinal gradient in Sikkim Himalaya
Shankar
Shankar has a Master’s Degree in Biotechnology from Loyola Academy Degree and PG College. His research interests lie in the applications of genetics in species conservation. He is focused on studying the effects of various ecological, environmental and human-induced factors on the genetic diversity and gene flow of the plant species. Specifically his doctoral research is focused on population genetics of one of the important gum-resin yielding tree species, Boswellia serrata. He has earlier worked on population genetics of tigers and leopards at CSIR-CCMB.

Poornima Bhat
Poornima worked as a Project Fellow in a DST - Funded project on invasives. Poona developed niche models for a number of invasive species and predicted the probable sites of invasion of these species under changing climate
