DBT- Rhododendron

Population status, extraction intensity and genetic diversity of Rhododendron arboreum in Eastern Himalayas and Western Ghats. Funded by Department of Biotechnology

Major Objectives

1) To study the distribution, population status and morphological variations of Rhododendron arboreum across the Western Ghats.

2) To evaluate the extraction intensities and its impact on population of Rhododendron arboreum in Western Ghats

3) To study the extent of genetic variability across the disjunct populations of Rhododendron arboreum across Western Ghats (Silent Valley and Munnar), Eastern Himalayas (Eastern, Central and Western Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim)
